PRISONS, 9-11, AND CORPLAN CORRECTIONS

Since 9-11 prison occupancy, population, and construction has swelled in the USA, particularly in states that border other nations. Texas, California, Arizona, and New Mexico have all seen increased needs for prisons.
Part of the reason for the increase, is the interest in homeland security. Although studies show that the vast majority of increase in prison population is among those who have created minor crimes, such as being caught with a marijuana joint on their body while crossing a border, or violating an immigration regulation.
Corplan Corrections, one of the most reputable and successful of the companies that develops new prisons, has developed a philosophy of building these facilities in communities that need jobs and economic development. "We build a prison that is flexible in design and can house local, city, state or federal prisoners. This gives the community a chance to participate in funding from State and Federal coffers" said James Parkey, President of Corplan.
"Corplan is one of the few prison companies that has be recognized for high standards" and while some prison companies have been plagued with problems Corplan Corrections continues to prosper.
"With the continued expansion of federal spending budgets for 'Homeland Security' we can expect to see more demand for prison beds, as more people are incarcerated." Said Parkey of Corplan Corrections.
